LONDON (10 January 2008) – IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, including Specify-it, the UK’s leading online service for construction professionals, announced today that the company has produced a new service with FastrackCAD. Specify-it bronze plus, the new comprehensive digital service, gives unlimited online access to FastrackCAD 26,000 building component CAD drawings and 800,000 pages of technical data from IHS.
This new service allows users to search for and identify products and suppliers to meet their exact project requirements, and to have immediate access to CAD drawings, full-text and full-colour catalogues, data sheets and selector guides.
Specify-it is a continually updated electronic collection of construction component and equipment information for construction industry professionals, delivered via the internet, covering 9,000 UK and overseas suppliers with recognised UK agents.
“Securing this agreement with FastrackCAD enhances our Specify-it product by providing a one-stop shop for construction customers,” said Nick Ecart, Vice President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Marketing and Business Development Director. “It brings together a list of manufacturers suitable for all projects, but most importantly, increases the value to our customers by adding certified CAD drawings from an industry recognized body.”
FastrackCAD Chief Executive Officer, Terry Holding said, “FastrackCAD Ltd is pleased to announce a new cooperation agreement with IHS to work closer together on providing digital information services to the Construction Industry.”
Both companies currently provide essential product technical information to specifiers. “By accessing the CAD drawings from ‘FastrackCAD’ with the digital catalogue information through Specify–It, through a common web site facility, a unique, convenient and comprehensive information service has been achieved,”
