A new technical manual published by Polypipe Terrain is set to form a valuable source of reference for architects, specifiers and contractors looking for information on the company’s HDPE range of high performance, non-pressure drainage system components.

Equally well-suited to use on domestic or industrial buildings the HDPE range offers a top-to-bottom drainage solution for all above and below-ground applications. Although designed primarily for soil and waste applications it can also be used to handle other liquids such as chemicals. The products in the range offer numerous benefits over their counterparts made from cast iron and other traditional materials and these are detailed in the new manual along with complete specification information.

This document reinforces the many benefits of HDPE over traditional materials, emphasising the speed and ease with which it can be assembled to create a bespoke drainage system. It provides data on such things as thermal expansion and suitability for handling specific liquids and chemical compounds, and gives installation advice and guidance.

The inclusion of full dimensional details and product codes simplifies the specification and ordering process and these are complemented by full details covering installation, handling and storage. Jointing systems such as butt-welding and electrofusion coupling also feature in the new manual, along with information on the ability of the HDPE components to resist impacts, abrasion, chemical corrosion and extremes of temperature. Spare parts and purpose-designed accessories such as bevelling machines, pipe cutters and pipe scrapers are covered in the manual.

The launch of this latest publication underlines the depth of the Polypipe Terrain drainage offering which now includes Terrain Push-Fit, Terrain Solvent Weld and Terrain Acoustic dB12 and which complements the company’s wider product portfolio including commercial plumbing and heating systems, water management solutions and pressure pipe systems.
