Resin flooring materials developed and manufactured by industrial flooring specialists Resdev have been installed in the new press hall at NPL in London, meeting the requirements of the specification for a very smooth, very level floor to the most demanding tolerances.

The newbuild construction houses some of the most advanced printing facilities in Europe, serviced by robotic vehicles carrying significant weights in the shape of paper rolls and other consumables to feed the high speed presses. The challenge for the flooring was to combine performance and longevity with an extremely level finish in line with the requirements of this highly sensitive equipment.

Resdev's flow applied, self-levelling materials based on epoxy technology were selected for application throughout the press area, creating a high performance, seamless flooring system across an area of approximately 1500m².

Installed by specialists TP Flooring, the materials achieve an extremely smooth, level and durable finish with excellent resistance to abrasion, impact and chemical attack, making them ideal for application in press halls subject to aggressive chemical cleaning methods. The surface profile also confers excellent slip resistance, even in wet areas.

The end result is a high quality, high performance flooring system meeting all application requirements, with a seamless, smooth finish of uniform matt colour and appearance.
