 | | INDEPENDENT ACCESS LIFTS UNVEIL NEW RIBA ACCREDITED CPD SEMINAR: PLATFORM LIFTS: HOW AND WHEN TO SPECIFY | | | Independent Access Lifts | | 09/01/2008 | | | Independent Access Lifts are pleased to announce the availability of a new updated CPD presentation for RIBA members entitled Platform Lifts: How and When to Specifiy. As specialist manufacturers and suppliers of vertical platform lifts since 1993, the company are perfectly placed to offer a wealth of support and advice to architects in this increasingly important arena.
The CPD seminar provides RIBA members with an in-depth understanding of how to create an inclusive environment to deliver full compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act and Part M requirements, taking into consideration key design factors and end user needs. Attendees will be guided through an overview of relevant standards and legislation, health and safety factors and maintenance considerations as well as being provided with some very practical guidance on the various types of product available and their applications. Attendees will be provided with seminar notes, a brochure and data sheets for future reference.
Independent Access Lifts unusually provides a full service including design, supply, installation and maintenance of vertical platform lifts, and because they manufacture in the UK, the team are able to work very closely with architects and specifiers to deliver to exacting requirements. Managing Director Stephen Coak explains: “Manufacturing on site means that it is possible for the team to take a proactive and flexible approach to the design and build process, recognising the need to specify precisely to meet particular construction, electrical, technical and integration requirements. Close control over the process also means that we have a very good understanding of the dilemmas that architects face on a daily basis and we have a great deal of experience in working to overcome them. The other major benefit of our approach is that we can guarantee a lead-time of 6 weeks from drawing approval to delivery.” | |
