When a company shows outstanding progress, the highest level of customer service and a healthy respect for the environment, it attracts the right attention. In the case of boiler manufacturer ATAG Heating UK Limited, that has meant international attention through winning a prestigious Anglo-Dutch Award for Enterprise.

At this year’s award ceremony of the Netherlands British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) 26th Anglo-Dutch Awards, which took place in the Clothworkers Hall, London, ATAG Heating was awarded the Heineken UK Trophy in honour of its impressive business strategy and achievements. The judges were particularly impressed with the company’s after sales support, while also providing exemplary ‘service before sale’ to help customers in their choice from a range of super high efficiency heating and hot water boilers.

The presentation was made to Phil Bell, managing director of ATAG Heating, by Ben Verwaayen, chief executive of BT, who commended the company on its outstanding growth from a garage based enterprise, only 31/2 years ago, to a £3.5 million turnover business that has brought additional employment to its locality.

From its Chichester based headquarters, the company distributes two main ranges of boiler, the ATAG ‘E’ and ATAG ‘Q’ Series, together with complementary sensor and control devices, which are manufactured by ATAG in Holland. The designs represent probably the most environmentally friendly boiler systems on the market (for domestic and light commercial use) and the Dutch manufacturer is an acknowledged market leader in the development of these types of product, which now includes sophisticated weather sensing controls and the new ‘Q’ Solar boiler.

Through a Select Dealer network, ATAG Heating brings together the manufacturer, installer and end-user in a three-way partnership that ensures optimum suitability and performance of each installation. Its ‘ATAG for Life’ service contract scheme ensures reliability for the life of each boiler and avoids unexpected expenses. ATAG also has its own comprehensive training facilities to ensure all installers can have hands-on experience of everything it sells.

The Anglo-Dutch Award for Enterprise was set up in 1981 to recognise both the co-operation and commitment to excellence of members of the NBCC. Since then it has attracted the association of a large number of very prominent politicians and businessmen in both countries, as well as Royalty, many of whom have been the main speakers at annual presentations. The awards are open to any company that can demonstrate to its panel of judges a combination of initiative, flair, commercial success and, above all, an enterprising approach to Anglo-Dutch trade.
