 | | SANYO PIONEERS SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS AT ECOBUILD | | | SANYO Air Conditioners | | 20/02/2008 | | | Environmental pioneer, SANYO Air Conditioners, will showcase a raft of ground-breaking sustainable solutions at EcoBuild 2008. On Stand E280, SANYO will feature its latest products developed in line with the company’s ‘THINK GAIA’ philosophy of environmental responsibility which commits the company to use global resources and skills to develop solutions for sustainable coexistence on Earth.
With energy consumption levels and green issues top of the HVAC industry’s agenda, SANYO is taking a lead in new environmental technologies. Key among these developments will be the launch of SANYO’s revolutionary ECO G Power, a new gas driven VRF air conditioning system which supplies heating and cooling while co-generating hot water and electricity – a first to the UK market. Other sustainable developments on show include SANYO’s ground-breaking solar air conditioning system, which offers one of the highest conversion efficiencies in the World, and SANYO’s CO2 ECO water heater, a CO2 air to water heat pump, which marks another dramatic environmental leap forward for the HVAC industry.
“With global warming already affecting climate change, sustainability is a major issue for the air conditioning sector. The theme of our stand at EcoBuild derives from SANYO's corporate philosophy which follows the concept of 'THINK GAIA – For Life and the Earth'. Under this vision SANYO has committed to progressing this environmental focus and innovation to ensure that it becomes the leading provider of energy efficient and sustainable solutions" explains Graham Wright, Product Manager at SANYO.
SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS AT ECOBUILD 2008
SANYO is pioneering a raft of ground-breaking sustainable solutions at ECOBUILD 2008 including:
- ECO G POWER (Gas driven VRF with electrical power generator): SANYO’s ECO G Power is a World-first in air conditioning design supplying heating and cooling while co-generating both hot water and electrical power. Each ECO G Power unit has a 4.0kW generator which provides enough power to run 40 indoor air conditioning units or the equivalent of eight computers. This innovative technology also reduces CO2 emissions by more than 30%.
- SOLAR AIR CONDITIONING: The SANYO PV Air Conditioning System offers one of the highest conversion efficiencies on the market, utilising natural sunlight to reduce operating costs and increase equivalent coefficient of performance. The system uses the strength of SANYO’s PV technology combined with cutting edge engineering design to create a concept that provides amazing energy efficiency, with the air conditioning system offering a COP up to 7.0 at part load, although it is theoretically possible to achieve a COP as high as 24 in some instances. Developed with a flexible modular design, SANYO’s system can be used to add solar power to any of its air conditioning products including VRF, GHP and split systems.
- CO2 WATER HEATER: The emergence of CO2 air to water heat pumps, such as SANYO’s new CO2 ECO water heater, has resulted in the hvac industry taking a dramatic technological leap forward and is set to overtake sales in ground source heat pumps in Europe following huge success in Japan. New to the UK this type of unit is particularly attractive because of its high COP, high water temperature and environmental refrigerant. For instance For instance SANYO’s CO2 ECO water heater can generate hot water up to 65 deg C at a COP of 3.75, making it highly efficient when compared with electric heaters which generally have a COP rating of 1. | |
