VM Zinc (Umicore) Ltd

With the growing use of zinc in construction, the addition of 160 downloadable technical details to VM ZINC’s website, www.vmzinc.co.uk is one designed for specifier convenience. Quick to use and available in AutoCAD .DWG or high resolution PDF format, applications include standing seam roofing and cladding as well as interlocking façades. Communications Manager Emmanuel Henris commented “We have faced a growing demand for CAD details throughout the UK and Ireland so an online system makes information accessible on demand. Details are quick to download while architects also have the assurance that they are totally up-to-date”.

Growing use of zinc in high profile projects such as Bere Architects ‘Focus House’, winner of the 2007 Grand Designs ‘Best Eco House’ is adding to the profile of what is undeniably the most sustainable metal used in construction today. Its popularity owes as much, however, to the range of contemporary designs VM ZINC now manufactures, which include pre-weathered and coloured finishes.”

Plans to add further CAD details for the Pluline® range of rainwater goods are scheduled to be made available online in early 2008, but are available from VM ZINC together with detailed technical advice and guidance meanwhile.
