The heaters also control condensation within the factory, keeping the stored steel dry and preventing rust.
Troax’s manufacturing facility in Kingswinford, West Midlands, is a 3,500m², high roof building divided into four bays. The company produces steel partitioning and doors for offices, warehouse and factories. It also has a separate powder coating section.
While well-insulated, the building tends to be particularly cold in the mornings before the production process starts to generate heat. An ageing oil-fired warm air system was inadequate to the task of bringing the premises up to temperature to provide comfort for operatives.
Jim Wareham, production manager for Troax, selected the AmbiRad Vision radiant heaters to replace the old system in two bays of the factory. ‘Although this is a new range, I knew the technology would be thoroughly tested and reliable. AmbiRad has a reputation for quality heating products that deliver great economic benefits.’
Four VSX radiant tube heaters were installed in the roof space above two production bays. A herringbone configuration allows flueing straight to atmosphere, effectively eliminating the possibility of condensation build-up.
The heaters take less than 30 minutes to bring the working temperature up to 22°C. The units deliver heat exactly where it is needed – where people are working and at the lowest two meters of the building. Zoning allows maximum flexibility of operation as units can be individually switched off when the area they | |
