Claremont Group Interiors, the UK’s largest commercial design and fit out practice outside London, has crowned a year of growth and change by winning the award for ‘Company of the Year’ at the Mixology North Awards.

Presented at a glittering evening ceremony at the City of Manchester Stadium, the award judges said the accolade was a well-deserved acknowledgement for a year which has seen the firm increase its turnover by some 40 per cent, move to new premises and develop a range of new services for clients, while maintaining a clear focus on employee development and well-being, investment in new technology and corporate social responsibility. Claremont received the Company of the Year award in front of an audience of the firm’s peers, customers, suppliers and other key players in the commercial interior design sector.

‘This isn’t just about Claremont’s commercial success’, said Henry Pugh, the publisher of Mix Interiors magazine and organiser of the awards. ‘It is also a recognition of the way in which the company works all round, especially in terms of building long term relationships with clients, developing employees and offering new services, especially in technology. The judging panel were also aware of the importance of Claremont’s role at the cutting edge of the market in the UK. In terms of what they do, they’ve raised the bar for the whole sector this year.’

Claremont Managing Director Mike Gardner commented: ‘We’re obviously delighted. We’ve made incredible strides as a business this year, both in terms of our financial performance and in terms of what we offer to clients and the Award is a well deserved testimony to the hard work of all the people at Claremont throughout 2007, coincidentally the firm’s 30th anniversary. What is particularly pleasing is the way the new divisions of the firm such as Viewpoint and Airangel have developed in parallel with our core design business, meaning that we are well set to build on our successes in the long term.’
