 | | TRUSSED RAFTERS PROVE EQUAL TO GOLF CLUB CHALLENGE | | | Trussed Rafter Association | | 10/10/2006 | | | A member of the Trussed Rafter Association has produced a large number of special prefabricated timber trusses to create an attractive and unusual roofscape for a major new hotel, golf and leisure complex.
Dover Trussed Roof Company has supplied nearly 1000 trusses, in a range of sizes and configurations, to meet a number of design challenges at the new East Sussex National Golf Club Hotel, which is being built by Quadric Limited
The architect leading the project is the Morgan Carn Partnership based in Newhaven. The versatility of timber trusses together with their ability to create curved roof profiles has enabled a number of special features to be incorporated into the roofscape. One example of this is a large conical structure, which emulates the oast houses of the surrounding area.
The trusses have been employed to form the roof to the hotel's main accommodation as well as a conference centre and health club. Rooflights have also been installed within the covering of Marley Eternit Smooth Brindle tiles, to bring natural daylight to guest rooms.
Throughout the early stages of the project, Dover Trussed Roof Company was closely involved in the project and offered detailed design advice and support using its special software package.
The Trussed Rafter Association is the respected voice of the UK trussed rafter industry and is committed to raising standards in the industry. The TRA forges links with the public and private sectors to promote the industry's interests and liaises with research and regulatory bodies on product specification, health and safety and environmental issues.
