SHACKERLEY HELPS TO CREATE NEW LANDMARK BUILDING FOR HAMILTON
Shackerley (Holdings) Group Ltd
30/11/2007
The new Express by Holiday Inn Hamilton is just one of a growing number of hotels in the UK to benefit from the aesthetic and protective attributes of ceramic granite ventilated rainscreen cladding supplied by Lancashire manufacturer and distributor Shackerley Holdings Group Limited.
ICA Architects of Hamilton specified Shackerley's Sureclad Access carrier system and ceramic granite panels in two different styles and formats to create the ventilated rainscreens for the new 104-bedroom hotel. For the facades on the main elevations a polished black 600mm x 600mm panel with a subtle through-body fleck was selected, creating a striking contrast with the pale grey render framing the rainscreens. Around the base of the building, a lighter and more distinctively patterned polished ceramic granite slab in Shackerley's standard 1200 x 600mm format was used to provide additional visual interest.
With its imposing appearance and instantly recognisable branding, in a location clearly visible from the approach roads and nearby M74, the new hotel has become a new landmark for the county town of Lanarkshire.
The Sureclad rainscreen system at the Express by Holiday Inn Hamilton was installed by cladding installation specialists RIG Construction Elements Ltd.
