TREMCO OFFERS QUICK SERVICE AT CAMBRIDGE CAFE
Tremco illbruck Ltd
10/10/2006
The specification of Tremco's Treadfast Uniflow underlayment in combination with the manufacturer's Treadfast Fastrak Universal damp proof membrane has facilitated the early completion of refurbishment works for a popular eatery in Cambridge.
Cafe Carrington in the centre of the city has undergone a complete refit, including the installation of new food servery equipment, by the Foodservice division of Alan Nuttall. Glamorgan-based Peter Evans Flooring was the specialist sub-contractor chosen to carry out the Tremco specification as part of a very tight building prooramme.
Crucially, because the Uniflow could receive the final floorcovering of high quality vinyl within eight hours of being laid on top of the high performance dpm. six days was saved on the duration of the contract.
The senior Project Manager for Alan Nuttall Ltd, Kristian Ward, comments: 'I would like to thank Peter Evans Flooring for the excellent installation carried out at the Cafe Carrington in Cambridge. The refurbishment was carried out successfully over a 10-day period and was handed over successfully to the client. The fitters' work and their attitude to the project on site was first class.'
The specification provided by Tremco's Technical Advisory Service called for the existing floor surface of polished marble tiles to be thoroughly cleaned and abraded prior to laying the Treadfast Fastrak Universal DPM with a notched trowel and flattening it with a roller.
By overlaying the damp proof membrane with Treadfast Uniflow within a period of four to six hours there was no need to prime it. The installation of the floor covering was then able to proceed just eight hours later.
Peter Evans Flooring installed three different sizes of Amtico's Montella Granite tiles to form a repeating pattern in front of the servery. Then the two side seating areas to the Carrington Cafe were covered in the manufacturer's Stripwood Teak and Stripwood American Oak products.
