 | | SMALL IS BEAUTIFUL WITH ANSELL’S NEW MICRO-RECESSED LUIMINAIRE | | | Ansell Lighting | | 23/11/2007 | | | Building on the success of its popular Galaxy low energy fluorescent downlight, Ansell Lighting has just added its new Galaxy Micro PLC Downlight to its extensive product portfolio. This new fluorescent downlight has been developed to offer the market a small multi-functional luminaire that combines all of the popular features into one single fitting. In doing so, it is able to maintain design continuity across the whole installation. To make this fitting energy efficient, High Frequency Control Gear has been featured as standard.
By adding the interchangeable accessories to the basic fitting, the Galaxy Micro can be transformed into many different types of lighting solutions to suit the individual demands of the application. These accessories include: a choice of trim bezels and drop glasses, as well as decorative frosted cone glass, and wallwash attachments.
It can also utilise the specially designed Category 2 cross blade louvres and reflectors to control the level of glare over computer workstations. The range also includes IP44 clear and frosted covers which allow these fittings to be used in bathrooms and toilets, as well in applications where food is being produced.
To further demonstrate the versatility of the Galaxy Micro PLC Downlight remote emergency packs are available for all luminaries to satisfy the emergency lighting application requirements to BS5266. To maintain the high specification of this product range, only leading European brands of control gear have been used.
By using a fully faceted reflector Ansell Lighting has been able to provide a high performance luminaire that offers maximum glare control. The use of high purity aluminium has further enhanced the level of light output to maximise the product’s optimum photometric performance.
To make these luminaires very easy to install, Ansell Lighting has used self locking fixing clips to avoid the requirement for screwdrivers or other tools. For speed of installation, each fitting is pre-wired with a 3 metre mains flex, so that the contractor doesn’t have to dismantle it to connect their own cabling. Also, all the luminaire lamp variants have the same physical cut-out size of 95mm to provide continuity across the entire installation and to make it easier when cutting holes.
The versatility of this product range makes it ideal for applications such as those found in hotels, conference centres, or public buildings as well as within catering establishments and food preparation environments. To enhance the overall visual appearance of the interior design scheme, the brass, chrome and silver grey bezels are twist off and twist on to allow for a quick change on new and existing luminaries to complement the interior aesthetics.
As these luminaries are modular they offer contractors the major advantage of being able to install the basic fitting during the second fix stage and then adding the bezels or accessories after decoration has been completed thereby avoiding the potential for the fittings getting damaged. | |
