 | | KINGSPAN TAREC’S PIPE INSULATION CHOSEN FOR BBC SCOTLAND’S NEW HQ | | | Kingspan Tarec Industrial Insulation Limited | | 22/11/2007 | | | The new headquarters for BBC Scotland, is the latest prestige project to use Kooltherm Pipe Insulation and Insulated Pipe Support Inserts from Kingspan Tarec Industrial Insulation.
The building’s open and spacious design presented thermal efficiency challenges, but the Kooltherm Pipe Insulation System - synonymous with high quality developments world wide, from Salford’s Lowry Centre to the Pentagon, Hong Kong Airport and the famous Burj Al Arab Hotel, Dubai – has been developed to overcome such challenges.
The Kooltherm System, comprising Pipe Insulation and Insulated Pipe Support Inserts, was installed by NIS Group Services Ltd. Their Managing Director Ian Marsden said:

The Kooltherm System has been optimised by years of experience in providing insulation solutions for engineering companies and contractors involved in Building Services / HVAC projects.
The products are faced with a reinforced aluminium foil vapour barrier jacket, which also increases the aesthetic value of the insulation - an important consideration for the BBC Scotland Headquarters –and can be used to insulate surfaces operating within the temperature range –180°C to +120°C.
The lightweight products have been developed to provide optimum performance with regards to insulation efficiency, fire resistance, low smoke emission, environment, health, safety and cost; and it has a thermal conductivity as low as 0.021 W/mK.
