WARMTH BUILDS UP FOR ASH & LACY
Ambi-Rad Limited
15/11/2007
Ash & Lacy has revolutionised its ability to keep its West Bromwich premises warm. Vision, the new range of energy efficient radiant tube heaters from AmbiRad, installed by Extreme Heating Services of Halesowen, is proving effective both in bringing the premises to temperature and maintaining comfort conditions while loading doors are open, no matter what the British weather can throw at the plant.
The factory, which comprises two buildings, is Ash & Lacy’s main research and production centre for bespoke and off-the-shelf perforated and expanded metal components for building fabrication. The original choice of AmbiRad Vision unitary heaters to replace the existing warm air system in Building One was based on comfort and efficiency requirements.
The building’s entrance/exits doors are kept open to allow fork lifts easy access and are in constant use. Heat loss and draughts meant discomfort in the building, and an extra fuel burden on the warm air system to maintain a reasonable working temperature.
Replacement with 12 Vision VSX40 and VSX35 radiant tube heaters has made a dramatic difference to comfort conditions within the building. On the coldest mornings, it takes just 18 minutes to bring the interior to a pleasant 18 degrees. The heaters are controlled by a centralised BMS in five separate zones for maximum flexibility and economy.
Having experienced the effectiveness of the new Vision heaters, Ash & Lacy specified the same system for their second premises when expansion required them to take on a further building.
