 | | GRIPPLE HANGERS ALSO HAVE 'GREEN' CREDENTIALS | | | Gripple Limited | | 29/10/2007 | | | Gripple Limited, the Sheffield-based manufacturer of the award-winning Gripple wire joiner, has identified significant 'green' credentials for its unique mechanical and electrical services' suspension system which is already acknowledged for delivering substantial time and cost savings.
The company's claims are based on independent research which shows that up to 17 times more carbon dioxide is emitted producing steel for traditional M & E suspension methods, such as threaded rod and chain, than in the production of Gripple hangers, which largely comprise steel wire rope.
Industrial experts state that between 1.3 and 2.5 tonnes of carbon dioxide is emitted during the production of one tonne of steel. Gripple has calculated that the steel threaded rod or chain required to suspend a 400m electrical cable tray weighs 17 times more than even the heaviest Gripple system for the same installation, representing major environmental benefits.
The fact that Gripple hangers are so much lighter than other M & E suspension systems also impacts on other transport and safety issues by reducing fuel costs and easing handling and installation.
The Gripple Hanger system, which evolved around the securing and tensioning qualities of the Gripple wire joiner, has now secured approximately one fifth of the UK mechanical and electrical suspension market, with sales in the United States and around the world increasing year-on-year.
Gripple hangers are up to six times faster to install than traditional methods, minimising accidents and costly installation equipment hire. Comprising a length of wire rope, a Gripple fastener and a comprehensive choice of end fixings for maximum versatility, Gripple hangers are light, strong and tamper-proof. | |
