 | | BAYS OF DISTINCTION
| | | Stormking | | 28/09/2006 | | | Feature design details are the all important factor in appealing to new house buyers. This applies equally to individual homes and to the total street scene which today's successful house builders consider very carefully for all their new developments.
Barratts, Mercia, have recently completed a development at Kings Court, Warstock in Birmingham, which includes a variety of features from Stormking Plastics, the specialist manufacturers of GRP building products.
For this particular site, Stormking supplied a variety of door canopies, door surrounds, dormers and bay windows - some from their catalogue range and some to customers own design specifications.
There are 11 houses and 13 flats to different sizes and with different features in order to produce a harmonised street scene in which most properties differ from their neighbours to give an interesting overall appearance to the development.
Stormking building products are a particular favourite with house builders as they provide well designed, high quality products which simplify and speed the house building process because they are prefabricated complete modules delivered to site ready for installation.
The bay windows were initially designed by Barratts and adapted for production by Stormking to retain the dentil detail of the cornicing. Their advanced, closed mould, resin transfer manufacturing technology enables Stormking to produce intricate shapes which traditional manufacturing processes would find virtually impossible. Manufacturing takes place under high pressure and is computer controlled to ensure absolute accuracy and consistency every time.
Stormking's door canopies and door surrounds were also used throughout the development to provide interesting entrances together with Stormking complete one-piece dormers, which are supplied ready for glazing and incorporating installation, making them quick and easy to install, were also specified for the Warnock Housing.
The Stormking ranges of bay windows, dormers, door canopies, surrounds and porticoes is extensive, replicating the styles, colours and textures of traditional building materials but without the traditional costs. They are relatively lightweight compared to conventional building materials, making them easy to lift into position and are supplied complete with all the necessary fittings to eliminate construction delays. They are virtually maintenance free, extremely sturdy, cost saving and are supported by the Stormking service, which ensures products are delivered on time in accordance with building schedules.
The Barratts development, using Stormking feature details, is now an attractive housing area with long life, maintenance free benefits for the homeowner.
