Innovative entrance matting designers and manufacturers, EMCO, have recently completed an installation at Manchester Airport. Contractors, Gariff Construction, appointed EMCO for their ability to work successfully alongside both their own, and the airport's management teams. Due to the large amounts of pedestrian traffic passing through the airport at all times of the year, timing was paramount to keep disruption to a minimum. 120sq/m of EMCO's Marschall matting was laid in all entrance areas, both arrivals and departures, in four separate sessions over a four-month period, between November 2005 and March 2006, to avoid peak summer holiday travel.

Marschall 522 S/R is an extremely hardwearing roll up entrance matting, designed to withstand vehicular traffic. EMCO installed a rigid, aluminium chassis, underlaid with impact sound insulation. This was then fitted with a tread surface of recessed, durable weather resistant coarse fibres, with an anthracite rib colour. The Marschall range consists of systems for all seasons, suited to areas of heavy traffic.

As part of a partnering scheme, EMCO was also responsible for supplying the recently developed Doncaster Robin Hood Airport with its entrance matting system. A similar system has also been installed at Luton Airport.

EMCO manufacture a wide range of customised and standard entrance matting systems to meet the demands of any housing or commercial application.
