Cooper Lighting and Security has completely redesigned and expanded its popular Solstar family of downlights, creating a truly comprehensive range that will address the requirements of a wide variety of applications.
The versatile new Solstar range offers recessed circular downlights in three diameters, with compact fluorescent lamps from 13W to 42W in vertical or horizontal orientations, a choice of smooth or diamond-facet reflectors, and an extensive line-up of retrofit attachments.
In addition, the range also now includes a surface-mount circular downlight and square models in both surface-mount and recessed styles.
A key feature of the new Solstar is its modular design, which not only facilitates installation but also enables attachments to be added at a later date if required.
The luminaire's separate slimline gear box is connected to the downlight head via a plug-in flying lead, making it quick and easy to fit and providing added flexibility in restricted ceiling voids.
The new range of Solstar attachments allows the basic downlight to be tailored to complement a particular dÉcor or theme. Frosted and coloured halo glasses provide a decorative edge, while the asymmetric wall-wash optics help to highlight a room's features. Semi-recessing bezels give an attractive alternative look, and, where a degree of environmental protection is required, IP44 and 1254 sealed attachments in toughened glass or polycarbonate are also available.
All Solstar models can be specified with integral emergency conversion and are suitable for use with Cooper's fast-fit Connect Wiring System.
