 | | A-PLANT COMMITS OVER £5 MILLION OF NEW INVESTMENT IN FEBRUARY |  | | A-Plant | | 22/11/2006 | | | In order to meet continuing demand and offer the most modern fleet in the industry to its national and local customers, A-Plant has committed over £5 million of investment in new equipment this month.
Major orders have been placed with a number of key supply partners, including JCB, Compair, Terex and TT-UK. The largest single order has been placed with JCB for a range of machines, including Excavators and Telehandlers of all sizes.
In addition, a major order has been placed with Terex for equipment including Dumpers, Rollers and Compaction Equipment. A-Plant has also purchased new Compressors and Compressor Generators from Compair and has expanded its range of Trenchless Technology equipment by placing a significant order with TT-UK Ltd. A-Plant is one of the largest suppliers of this type of equipment in the market.
Sat Dhaiwal, Chief Executive Officer of A-Plant, said: 'At A-Plant we pride ourselves on being able to provide our customers - both at a local level and national accounts - with the exact equipment they want, when they want it. If we don't have the equipment in stock that a customer is looking for, we will purchase new equipment for their needs and this latest £5 million+ investment confirms exactly that.'
A-Plant forms part of FTSE-250 company, Ashtead Group plc. In the latest Plant Hire Investment Report, Ashtead retained number one position as the UK's largest plant holding company with a fleet gross book value of £813 million. A-Plant offers a one-stop solution for rental equipment, with the widest and most comprehensive range of plant, tools and specialist equipment available on the market.
A-Plant's vast product range available for hire extends from smaller equipment such as Electrical Tools, Lifting Products and Confined Space Equipment, to plant including Dumpers, Forklifts and Excavators. The company also has a number of business streams offering specialist equipment, including Falsework and Formwork Products, Traffic Systems, Power Generation and Welding Equipment, Powered Access Equipment, Accommodation Units and Rail Equipment. |  |
