 | | NEW SOUND ABSORPTION SYSTEM FROM PAROC | | | Paroc Panel System UK | | 04/10/2006 | | | Paroc Panel System UK has launched a new interior wall and ceiling solution that has been specially designed to combine excellent levels of sound absorption with all the benefits of a high performance composite panel system. The Acoustic panel range streamlines the construction process and reduces material costs by negating the need for additional sound absorption systems in noisy environments.
The new added-value panel can be used to control noise in a wide range of applications, from manufacturing facilities that house plant and machinery, where it can prevent serious hearing damage and create a more comfortable working environment, to leisure centres, lecture theatres and conference halls, where it can significantly improve sound quality.
While steel surfaces usually reflect sound, serving to amplify noise, the Acoustic panel system from Paroc features a precision-engineered perforated steel surface, which has been specifically designed to achieve high levels of sound absorption.
Denis Beardmore, managing director of Paroc UK, commented: "In many cases, additional acoustic screens or boards need to be used to control sound in environments where high levels of noise are generated. However, the new Acoustic panel range avoids the need for these systems, as it combines excellent sound absorption with Paroc's high performance interior composite panel system to offer a single, comprehensive wall and ceiling solution that improves the construction process, as well as the performance of the completed building."
In addition to its sound absorption properties, the Acoustic system also offers excellent levels of thermal insulation: up to 0.16 W/m2K for walls and 0.18 W/m2K for ceilings, and, as the panels are mineral wool based and will not ignite or burn, they are classed as non-combustible.
Like all Paroc panels, the Acoustic system is completely manufactured off-site in tightly controlled conditions to ensure high levels of accuracy and is delivered to site ready for installation. Panels can span in excess of eight metres without the need for additional structural support, which significantly reduces build times.
Paroc's Acoustic range includes panel systems for interior partition walls and interior ceilings. Wall systems range from 50mm deep to 240mm deep panels and ceiling systems range from 80mm deep to 240mm deep panels.
Paroc Panel System UK Limited designs and manufactures composite panel systems for commercial and industrial applications, including exterior cladding panels, interior partition walls and interior ceilings. In addition to the standard panel, the range includes a thermal insulation panel system and a fireproof panel system, as well as the acoustic panel solution. All panel systems are available in a wide range of standard and specialist colours and finishes for internal or external applications. | |
