As thermal insulation standards increase within Building Regulations, so do modern methods of construction gain ground, particularly lightweight steel frame using external wall insulation.

A seminar for specifiers majoring on modern construction methods incorporating insulated renders or claddings is being sponsored by the Insulated Render & Cladding Association. It will take place on Thursday, October 5, at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, Reading RG2 0FL.

An exhibition will be held alongside to illustrate advanced external wall insulation systems and how they can be used in both new build and for refurbishment or remodelling to achieve sustainable buildings.

Speakers at the Seminar will discuss incorporating external wall insulation within the building envelope to meet Part L of the Building Regulations, which came into effect in April 2006; and how external insulation with render systems is being used with light steel frame construction. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and seek advice on modern methods of building.

A new guide entitled `Insulated Render Systems Used with Light Steel Framing' will be available at the seminar, or may be obtained from the Insulated Render & Cladding Association.
