JDP, the UK's leading specialist distributor of civil engineering and drainage products is stocking nationwide Camstopper, an award winning new method of installing and removing a drain stopper.
Camstopper is safer and faster than traditional mechanical plugs taking seconds to fit and remove without 'down-the-hole' personnel, which ensures compliance with Confined Space Regulations. 'Camstopper enables contractors to use 450mm inspection chambers 3-metre deep, a considerable cost saving on a 1200 wide chamber with steps,' says John Hay, JDP's Regional Manager for Northern Scotland. 'We are selling hundreds of Camstoppers as a result,' he added.
Sales of the Camstopper in Scotland have been so successful that JDP, as UK main stockist, is making the product available throughout the UK through its network of 23 depots. 'We are a distributor intelligent about its products. This is especially true with new and innovative products like Camstopper which we are keen to make available to contractors. Not only does it save them money it also provide health and safety benefits too,' says JDP's Managing Director, Steve McLellan.
The Camstopper can be installed up to six times faster and retrieved up to 20 times faster than a standard stopper in a 900mm deep inspection chamber and the time saving is even greater in deeper chambers.
Camstopper's patented innovative design by Advanced Sewer Products uses a pivoting cam to expand a traditional drain stopper forcing a rubber seal onto the pipe wall temporarily sealing the open pipe, duct or drain. A stabilising heel prevents twisting keeping the Camstopper in place.
The Camstopper, designed to allow standard air and water testing, is made from tough, glass filled nylon material with heavy, durable and long lasting stopper and is suitable for 100 mm to 750 mm internal diameter drains and sewers and any other non-pressure pipelines such as telecoms ducts and factory process lines.
