 | | D R SERVICES DRY-GLAZE SHOWER SYSTEM OFFERS STYLE STATEMENT
| | | D R Services | | 27/09/2006 | | | Architects and interior designers seeking to offer clients the optimum in performance as well as appearance when it comes to shower cubicles can call on the design and engineering expertise of D R Services.
The Hertfordshire-based company specialising in patch door fittings and other architectural glazing systems has developed a dry-glaze solution that presents a totally frameless appearance for shower cubicles.
Supplied in conjunction with coloured or reconstructed stone shower trays measuring up to 2000 x 900 mm, the D R Services design solution enables glass panels to be directly glazed into a recessed metal wall channel without any seals being visible.
First launched at the Glass Processing and Technology Show, the system has been further developed and now permits the same wedge arrangement to be utilised for fixing the glass into the shower tray. This is achieved through the creation of a secondary slot which the supplier, Classic Marble, only incorporates into trays produced for D R Services.
Director of D R Services, Julie Jarvis, comments: 'In addition to being available in white and a range of pastel colours, the shower trays can also be produced in virtually any variety of stone finish, with ground natural stone being incorporated into the gel coat. Special shapes and sizes can also be supplied, though there is up to a 10 week delivery on this as individual moulds need to be fabricated for them.'
'Further to this D R Services is also able to supply 6 mm thick wall cladding panels and even 20 mm thick wash hand basin plinths in the same material as the shower tray for a truly coordinated and luxurious bathroom interior.'
Just as the company will supply the toughened glass for the doors and side panels with hinge holes predrilled, the cladding panels and plinths can also incorporate holes for the hot and cold as well as waste outlet pipes. Significantly such openings can be cut even closer to the section edge in the reconstructed stone than with glass.
