 | | MARLEY WATERPROOFING LAUNCHES REVOLUTIONARY 20 YEAR COLD APPLIED SYSTEM | | | Marley Waterproofing | | 08/12/2006 | | | Marley Waterproofing has demonstrated its quest for innovation with the launch of an exciting new roof waterproofing system. Totally cold applied, with a 20 year guarantee, Marley Waterproofing are expecting this system to generate a lot of interest.
LCMS20™ has addressed current issues over health and safety and insurance premiums that affect the client, specifier, installer, building users and general public. In addition, current concerns over use of hot works and installation methods have been taken into account. The result is the provision of a long lasting solution that retains a traditional bituminous build up with a mineral finish.
LCMS20™ is suitable for both cold and warm roof applications. In addition, the system comes wit a comprehensive 20 year guarantee, covering design, materials and workmanship.
The health & safety risks are at a minimum when installing the system. There is no requirement for bitumen boilers or gas torches and the time spent on the roof is reduced with the provision of pre-formed details.
Pre-formed details deliver fast track installation and minimise time spent working at perimeter edges. The specifier and client can be assured that installation is taking place effectively and safely. This is just one element of the system that makes it so flexible.
There is also a reduced impact on the environment as the fumes and C02 emissions associated with hot works will not be present and the noise levels will be significantly lower than when using, for example, gas torches. This creates a healthier working environment for installer, client, building users and general passing public alike.
Overall, this system encourages a safer working area for the installer and assists in the reduction of contractor insurance premiums.
It is because of these attributes that Marley Waterproofing has named this system the Life Cycle Membrane System 20 (LCMS20™). The system takes into account the design considerations of architects and specifiers and the installation choices of today's contractors to offer a solution that perfectly meets customer requirements for a long lasting roof.
Gilbert Jackson, National Sales Director for Marley Waterproofing explains 'For many years the tradition of bituminous built up roofing has been well understood and accepted by the roofing industry. However, it has become apparent that health and safety concerns and insurance issues are more prevalent. With this in mind, we have launched a fully bonded bituminous membrane application which can be quickly and safely installed whilst providing a familiar mineral finish and flexibility.'
This versatile system includes Traffik-Able™, an extremely robust cold applied Vapour Control Layer (VCL) containing an impervious aluminium core which can withstand normal construction foot traffic. The product has a fine mineral finish to maintain a non stick surface. Traffik-Able™ can be used over the entire roof area for temporary weatherproofing protection.
In addition Marley Waterproofing have added a recovery underlayer, suitable for refurbishment projects. It has been especially designed for applications where an overlay system is required.
