JS Air Conditioners is now distributing the Met Mann range of evaporative coolers. The range includes fixed external coolers for large industrial applications and mobile units capable of cooling areas from 340 to 625m³.
Evaporative cooling is ideal for any environment that can be well ventilated, isn't sensitive to noise and requires up to 13°C of cooling. The units cool by drawing air through continually wetted pads thus avoiding the use of refrigerant with the costs and environmental issues surrounding it.
The fixed external coolers are easy to install and are ideal for applications like agricultural buildings, warehouses, factories, printers and commercial centres. Installation of these units is also a lot simpler than refrigerant based air conditioning as they only require a single-phase power supply and don't need complex plumbing and refrigerant handling expertise.
As the units cool by drawing air through continually wetted pads, the maximum cooling capacity of an evaporative cooler depends on the temperature of the air being drawn into the unit. However, as the UK's climate rarely reaches more than 33°C, even in the hottest of summers, it could still provide air at 20°C, making it the ideal, economic alternative to costly air conditioning. Buildings which employ fixed evaporative coolers, either directly outside or on the roof, also have the added benefit of ventilation, as fresh air is drawn into the building.
The mobile Met Mann evaporative coolers are a great way of providing a temporary cooling solution for the summer months. A single unit can provide up to 30kW of traditional cooling for under 1kW of electrical power. The units are easy to move around, can be connected to a thermostat for automatic control and incorporate auto-drain hygiene features.
These mobile units need to be operated in situations with a good level of ventilation in order to maintain a level of humidity, which will allow the water to evaporate. This means they are ideal for industrial units, warehouses, factories and any other premises that have doors or windows open.
The Met Mann range includes fixed external units with outputs from 2,500m³/h to 63,000m³/h for areas up to 3,500m³ and mobile internal units with outputs from 2,500m³/h to 12,000m³/h for areas up to 625m³. Multiple units can be used to accommodate all sized applications.
